Curious about the Danish daycare system?

 

On May 10th at 18.15-19.45 (6.15-7.45pm) the daycare department from Vejle Municipality will provide you with an overview of the Danish daycare system (Children in the age range from 10 months to 5 years).

We will go through how it is set up, why things are done in a certain way and you can ask any questions you might have about the daycare system in Vejle.

Participation is free of charge - but you have to sign up.


If you would like to spend the evening at Spinderhallerne it is also possible to join Tuesday Food before the daycare info meeting - buy your ticket(s) here

After the daycare info meeting you can join an optional tour of Spinderihallerne - maybe there is a community or activity you would like to join?

Vocal Inventions - An Improv Choir

An Improv Choir is an excellent way to have fun, sing, relax, feel connected, release happy endorphins, build community; even among people who speak different languages.

Mother-tongue education - sign up for next school year

 
If you are a citizen from another EU/EEA country, the Faroe Islands or Greenland living in Denmark you can sign up your children for mother-tongue education. 

The purpose of participating in mother-tongue education is to maintain and develop the children’s familiarity with their mother-tongue and to learn more about their home country. The children have the opportunity to understand their background and to master the language.  

Mother-tongue education is offered to pupils in grades 0-9. The education is voluntarily and it is free of charge for children living in Vejle Municipality to participate. If you live outside Vejle Municipality, please refer to the municipality you live in.

Deadline to sign up for the school year 2022/23 is May 31st.

The national warning sirens are being tested May 4th

 
When a major accident or disaster involves an acute danger of injury or property damage, it is possible to warn the Danish population of such risk by means of Denmark’s national electronic siren warning system.
 
The sirens are being tested annually the first Wednesday of May at 12.00/noon.

The Vejle Libraries

 

In Vejle Municipality the library has five departments - and a bus (the library's rolling branch) 

You can find the main library in Vejle and library branches in Børkop, Egtved, Give and Jelling. 

The library is always within reach - physically or digitally - and they have a lot more to offer than you might think.

Tour de France in Vejle: Join the community

 

Do you want to participate when Tour de France hits Vejle on July 3rd?

Right now, we are looking for volunteers who wants to be part of the World’s largest bike race. We are looking for people who can help with practical tasks, smiling guides, volunteer team coordinators and many other tasks.

You do not have to speak Danish to join, feel free to still sign up - your laguage skills will be taken into consideration.

Torsdagsselskabet / Thursday Society

 
On Thursdays you are invites to the Thursday Society at Spinderihallerne.
 
Time for board game night, Wine & Vinyl and a music quiz - among others! 
 
The café will each week prepare a Thursday soup with sustainablity in mind - no need to sign up.

Spinderhallerne will prepare a meal - all you have to do is show up and enjoy it. (50kr for adults - 40kr for children).
