July is here is - summer vacation for many Danes.

 

This also means that many "regular" activities slow down, maybe your sport is off for the summer. 

 

BUT you can find other summer friendly activities - also some that are for free.

Join the annual Viking Fair in Jelling. Experience the authentic Viking Fair with workshops and stalls as they were during the Viking age.

 

Test your own abilities as a Viking and feel the rush of history when the Vikings fight for honor, women and land.

 

This year the Viking fair is the same weekend as Tour the France is in Vejle - thus the market is adapted to "share" Jelling on Sunday. 

(This means no entrence fee Sunday - Saturday it costs 50kr. for adults and children under 14 is free of charge when with an adult).

Every Wednesday in July you can join various fun in central Vejle - hosted by City Vejle.

On July 10th you can find Godtfolk's flea market at Paladspassagen Social Dining. 

It is also possible to buy your own stall to sell your stuff.

It will be a great audience experience with world class tennis, when ITF World Tennis Tour comes to Vejle this July.

All summer you can visit our to heated swimming pools in Jelling and Give, even on a rainy day the water temperature is always 25C in the pools.

 

Jelling Open-Air Pool (Jelling Friluftsbad) comprises a 25-metre pool with 1, 3 and 5-metre diving boards, a children’s pool and a paddling pool with a small waterslide. You’ll also find beach volleyball, a bouncy castle and trampolines.  

 

Give Open-Air Pool (Give Friluftsbad) comprises a heated 25-metre pool with diving boards and two children’s pools with waterslides. The open-air pool is located at Give Camping, but open for everyone.

The World Ballet is coming to one of Denmark’s most historic areas, when they on July 31st presents a fantastic show in Jelling.

 

The historic surroundings becomes the show’s unique stage on this summer day, as ballet dancers from some of the world’s finest ballet companies are accompanied by classical musicians and Danish opera singing.

 

There will be numbered seating.

ArtZone at Spinderihallerne invites everyone to an exhibition and vernissage of the exhibition Tour de France Art & Design Exhibition.

 

Behind the initiative are 15 artists and designers who want to celebrate the historic bicycle event with an art exhibition. All have been asked to relate to the theme of TdF/cycling, but otherwise no restrictions.  

 

The exhibition can be seen until July 26th on weekdays during the Spinderihallen's opening hours.
