Living Danishly with Helen Russell - September 6th

 
New in Denmark? Or maybe you have lived here for years but are still wondering about those crazy Danes?  
 
On September 6th at 18.30-21.00 (6.30-9.00pm) we have invited Helen Russell for a Living Danishly event – speaking about subjects YOU choose.  
 
From preconceptions about Denmark to first impressions on arrival (the price tag! the weather!); Danish work culture; making friends; Danish culture; the infamous hygge; Danish trust; equality; the great things about living Danishly…as well as the not so great things.

The cultural meeting between different health understandings - September 1st

 

On Wedneday September 1st Esbjerg and Vejle Newcomer Service join forces on this info evening.

Nadia El-Gendi from “På Tværs” will help us learn how to understand doctors in Denmark, whilst taking us on a journey in different cultural worldviews.

What is illness? What is considered treatment? How is the connection between mind and body perceived?
 
PLEASE NOTE: The event takes place at the International House in Esbjerg at 5-8pm (17.00-20.00).
Participation is free of charge - coffee, tea and sandwiches are included.

Vejle Fjord Festival - August 27th + 28th

 
Two fun days for friends and family at Vejle Fjord and Yacht Harbor with plenty of activities, water fun, music, floating art, design, street theater and delicious street food.

Trekantområdets Festuge - The Triangle Festival Week

Every year, The Triangle Festival Week puts the spotlight on the fantastic cultural life in our area.
 
Cultural institutions, associations and volunteers from the seven Municipalities in the Triangle Region develop cultural events and create a fantastic week with many events.

Street theater and picnic this Friday! (August 26th)

 
As part of The Triangle Festival Week, Vejle Library invites you to join a picnic and imaginatively street theater in the library garden.
 
Bring your family, friends and your best picnic blanket and enjoy a fun show and a delicious picnic basket. 
 
it is free of charge to participate - but you have to book tickets. (it is also possible to buy a picnic basket - check webiste).

Inauguration of the library’s biodiversity garden (August 26th)

 
Join the library when they officially inaugurate the new biodiversity garden with speeches, sing along and nature bingo.
 
Remember it is possible to join the street theater picnic before this event.

Like the former years, City Vejle hosts Culture Night and "let's the culture loose" in the shopping street. 
 
Guarantee for party, color and lots of cultural activities!

Pap & Papir Festival - September 2nd-4th

 
At the Pap & Papir (Cardboard & Paper) Festival we will through design, art, workshops and stories, show how an otherwise simple and everyday material can be reused and transformed into exciting forms and beautiful works of art and products.
 
The festival is held as part of Triangle Festival Week and is created by many different actors, who will each create different projects, designs and work with their own approach, professional interests and passion. 

The material can be recycled packaging, shredded paper, cardboard boxes, various rolls, books/magazines and much more.

English Comedy Night - September 15th

 
After a brilliant English comedy night in Spinderihallerne back in May we have decided to do it again.
 
Join us for a fantastic evening of English stand-up comedy!
 
Hosted by Robert Bruce, featuring Dharshika and Henrik Danielsen. The three talented comedians will guarantee a hilarious night of quality stand-up!

Curious to know more about the Danish daycare and public school systems?

 
On September 13th and 15th Vejle Municipality (as part of Welcome September) host online info meeting about Danish daycare and public school system. 
 
An evening for each subject - so you can join the one that is most relevant for your current life situation. You are also welcome to join both. 
 
The online sessions are open til everyone and will focus on the overall systems in Denmark, but please note that it will be with an "how do we do it in Vejle" angle - and for the school info evening there will also be information about the International Program offered in Vejle.

Stop animation with LEGO (workshop for children) - September 22nd

 
Come and make your own little stop animation video with LEGO.
 
We have lots of LEGO and building plates to use… but if you have a specific idea, you can also bring some of your own bricks/models/mini figures…
 
BRING your own device with the free app Stop Motion Studio. Find different background ideas from magazines or draw your own.
 
Max. 10 children - if below age of 6, you might consider bringing an assistant 😉

However, consider signing up with a friend, so you can work together as a team. That often gives a good experience.

Come join our communal dining “Fællesspisning” every Tuesday at Spinderihallernes Café.

 
 
Eating together is a great way to meet new people. Every week, people of all ages meet over a nice meal at Spinderihallernes Café.
 
If you are looking for great company, “hygge” and the opportunity to meet new people, then “Fællesspisning” is the place to go.
 
We serve the food from 5.30 pm to 7 pm - beer, wine and soft drinks are sold separately. The café closes at 21.00.
 
You can book your ticket via this websitw below - the price is 85 kr. for adults and 55 kr. for children (up to 12 years) per portion, incl. a cup of coffee and something sweet.  
 
In September you can sign up for the 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th.
