You can run and/or vote for the Integration Council if you live in Vejle Municipality, are aged 18 (or will be 18 on March 4th), were born or have parents who were born abroad.
If you would like to run as a candidate, you can inform us on the voting day - no former work reqired (bring your yellow health card).
The new council starts on 1 April 2023 and meet six times a year. Work in the Integration Council is voluntary.
The Integration Council in Vejle Municipality is set up by the City Council and advises the municipality on the overall integration efforts and works for ethnic equality and equality.
The Integration Council is an active player in getting intergration on the agenda and create interaction between citizens, the municipality and city council.
The tasks of the Integration Council are:
• To build bridges between cultures
• To create development and dialogue
• To develop common understanding
• To break down barriers
The Integration Council can, for example:
• Speak out on topics of interest to citizens with a different ethnic background than Danish.
• Make proposals for municipal efforts and focus areas.
• Make proposals for the work with the municipality's integration policy.
• Look at schools' teaching, bilinguals' access to the labor market or the situation of the elderly.
• Strengthen cooperation between the municipality and cultural associations.
• Advise the municipality on the reception of newly arrived foreigners and refugees.
