VIP Newcomer Vejle by Night event! - June 2nd

This Friday (June 2nd) City Vejle hosts Vejle by Night - and you, as a newcomer, are invited to this VIP event, where we greet each other over a glass of bubbles, snacks and say "Welcome to Vejle - shop like crazy 😊".
City Manager Andreas Kiis Antonsen and Newcomer Service Louise Nielsen bid you welcome and talk about City Vejle's many offers and relocation services.
We meet at the old town hall - where you will also be able to see the city council hall.
It is free to participate - but for catering reasons you must register.

Art & Sculpture Day in Give - June 2nd
|
Art & Sculpture Day is held in Give on June 2nd. The theme this year is street art.
There will be graffiti painters, sculptors, music, street theatre, good food offers and plenty of experiences for the family.
Skulpturby Give holds a vernissage at Torvet at 15.00 (3pm), where the season's new sculptures are presented.

Vandel Climate Day - June 3rd

On June 3rd, Vandel is inviting to Open Climate Village, and it will be a blast of a day!
Vandel's residents and Development Council open the doors and talk about their experiences of being Vejle Municipality's Climate Village and have organized a day of inspiring activities for all ages!

Vejle Folkemøde (Democracy Festival)
|
|
On Friday 9 June and Saturday 10 June, Vejle's Folkemøde (Democracy Festival) returns full of exciting debates and cultural features.
Rådhustorvet (at Vejle city center) will be buzzing with life and community when the festival returns after the Covid period.
The purpose is to bring together citizens, decision-makers, associations, and businesses in a big democracy festival, where we focus on community, dialogue and democracy at eye level. This means that everyone can contribute with an activity or idea, and everyone is invited to participate on June 9th and 10th.
The beautiful setting for the festival is Rådhustorvet in the middle of Vejle, where stages and tents will be filled with exciting debates, workshops and cultural features. You can look forward to a public meeting that offers something for both body, voice and intellect with e.g. group singing, yoga, generational debate, political debate, Grandma's living room, Wear your own CO2 footprint and much more.
Vejle's Folkemøde is held in collaboration with City Vejle and Vejle Food Festival, which on Saturday 10 June will fill the spaces with food stalls and set the scene for the WC in hotdogs.

Vejle Food Festival - June 10th
|
|
Vejle Food Festival is Vejle's official food festival.
On June 10th, the city's three squares - Søndertorv, Nørretorv and Rådhustorvet - will be filled with stalls where you can experience local restaurants and producers.
Each of the three squares will be assigned a theme, so you can explore everything from gourmet, green alternatives, local drinks, different world cuisines and family friendly foods.

End of Pacifier Party - June 10th
|
|
Is your child going to say goodbye to pacifiers soon - and do you need a good reason to mark this landmark day?
Then join the Library on June 9th at their End of Pacifiers Party for the little ones, when together with our two reading fairies we inaugurate the brand new pacifier tree in the library's biodiversity garden.
When we have sung and read aloud, you and your child can say goodbye to the pacifiers and hang them on the tree at your own pace (preferably on strings or ribbons - we refrain from plastic bags).
There will also be a small refreshment and a book gift as a thank you for the pacifiers. Feel free to bring blankets to sit on.
Program:
10.00: Welcome by the reading fairies
10.10: Reading aloud and group singing
10.30: Farewell pacifiers – time to hang pacifiers on the tree, have a refreshment and receive book gifts
11.00: Thank you for today

International Yoga Day - June 17th
|
|
Indian Association of Denmark (IAD), Vejle and the Embassy of India, Copenhagen take immense pleasure in inviting you for the “9th INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA (IDY 2023)”.
It will take place at the Petersmindehallen, Petersmindevej 25 7100 Vejle, Denmark on 17th June 2023, from 09:30 to 11:30.
This International Day of Yoga is to raise awareness of health, spirituality and overall wellness and is a free event.

International Gospel concert - June 24th
|
|
Efatha International Revival Crusade Denmark 2023.
International Christian Fellowship Church Denmark (ICFCDK) organizes an international concert in Vejle Music Theatre.
You can look forward to experiencing the well-known singer from DR Congo, Maman L'Or Mbongo Lemba, Deborah NYEMBO from Norway and Mireille Basirwa from Beligium, who will give a concert in connection with the event.

Vejle’s pools, subtropical waterparks and open-air pools offer fun for the whole family.

Summer Vacation Activities for your school children - sign up from May 31st
|
|
In collaboration with local organizers, Vejle Municipality offers holiday activities.
Via the below link you will find the offers - all targeted at children, young people and families. Note some are for free and some have a payment.
The organizers are associations and private cultural organizers who work daily with children and young people as well as cultural and nature institutions.
NOTE: signing up starts May 31st at noon - be ready, tickets are taken fast.

Mother-tongue education - time to sign up your child
|
|
The purpose of participating in mother-tongue education is to maintain and develop the children’s familiarity with their mother-tongue and to learn more about their home country.
The children have the opportunity to understand their background and to master the language.
For the school year 23/24 you have to sign up your child latest May 31.

Free Rejsekort (travel card) for newcomers
|
In 2023, Vejle Municipality, together with Sydtrafik, offers a free travel card to new residents.
If you just moved to Vejle, you can get a Rejsekort (travel card), and travel for free with public transportation for two months. This gives you plenty of opportunity to see your new municipality and the experiences and attractions it offers.
NOTE that you have to activate the card within two months after you moved to Vejle.

Come join our communal dining “Fællesspisning” every Tuesday at Spinderihallernes Café.
|
|
Eating together is a great way to meet new people. Every week, people of all ages meet over a nice meal at Spinderihallernes Café.
If you are looking for great company, “hygge” and the opportunity to meet new people, then “Fællesspisning” is the place to go.
We serve the food from 18.00/6pm - beer, wine and soft drinks are sold separately. The café closes at 21.00/9pm.
You can book your ticket via this websitw below - the price is 85 kr. for adults and 55 kr. for children (up to 12 years) per portion, incl. a cup of coffee and something sweet.
In June/July you can join on the 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th and 4th.
