July is here in a few days which means Danish summer and slow living.

As some of you will know, many things close down in July - the month where Denmark is off.

However there are still things to do if you are spendig your summer in Vejle/Denmark.

Summer in Spinderihallerne

In weeks 26, 27, 31 and 32 (June 26th–July 7th and July 31st–August 11th) Spinderihallerne will once again be buzzing with life and summer atmosphere.

The program is filled with workshops, theatre, yoga, quiz, banking, treasure hunt, live music ... and much, much more!

You are of course invited, so grab your friends, colleagues, children, family members and anyone else who want a fun summer and meet up in Spinderihallerne.

MAD : Denmark's history – bite by bite!

Food (mad) has created the Denmark we know today.

With three significant historical impacts, MAD draws a line from the Stone Age through the Middle Ages to the first half of the 20th century, where what we eat has changed the world.

The exhibition also touch upon what we will eat in the future and how it will affect our everyday life and the world around us.

Throughout the exhibition, visitors encounter the three themes of power, sustainability and identity, which show the societal similarities and differences that have been at play throughout Denmark's history.

The exhibition opend in June and is active until May 2024. All info signs are both in Danish and English.

Summer shuttle bus

Again this summer you can take free trips with Vejle's hop on – hop off bus (shuttle bus) between Vejle and some of the area's major attractions.

Hop on the bus and get off right next to Givskud Zoo, Museum Give, Kongernes Jelling and Legoland - or in the center of Vejle, where you can shop, explore a museum or enjoy lunch.

It's easy, it's free and there are three departures every day.

Summer concerts in Skyttehushaven

FestiVejle and Vejle Municipality hosts summer concerts on Sundays in July and August in the beautiful Skyttehushave in Vejle.

Similar to previous years, it will be with a number of popular Danish names and it is free to join.

Summer Camp at the Library - starts June 26th

Join the Library when they open the doors to their cool new Summer Camp, which this year is filled with lots of animals!

Did you know that the library is full of animals? Magical animals, dangerous animals… and dead animals! They are all over the place. In the books. In the games. In the films. And for this year's Summer Camp at the library, where we bring the animals to life together with you and your friends.

Viking Fairs 2023: July 1st+2nd and 8th+9th

This year you can experience two Viking Fairs in Vejle municipality in the coming two weekends.

The first weekend the fair is by Fårup Sø and is a warrior fair.

On July 8th and 9th there is a trade fair in Jelling.

NOTE: the shuttle bus stops near both fairs.

ITF World Tennis Tour : July 24th-30th

Again this year it will be a great audience experience with world class tennis, when ITF World Tennis Tour comes to Vejle this July.

The tournament is held at Vejle Tennis Club. Read more at ITF’s homepage.

it is free of charge to be part of the audience.

Free Rejsekort (travel card) for newcomers

In 2023, Vejle Municipality, together with Sydtrafik, offers a free travel card to new residents.

If you just moved to Vejle, you can get a Rejsekort (travel card), and travel for free with public transportation for two months. This gives you plenty of opportunity to see your new municipality and the experiences and attractions it offers.

NOTE that you have to activate the card within two months after you moved to Vejle.

Come join our communal dining “Fællesspisning” every Tuesday at Spinderihallernes Café.

Eating together is a great way to meet new people. Every week, people of all ages meet over a nice meal at Spinderihallernes Café.

If you are looking for great company, “hygge” and the opportunity to meet new people, then “Fællesspisning” is the place to go.

We serve the food from 18.00/6pm - beer, wine and soft drinks are sold separately. The café closes at 21.00/9pm.

You can book your ticket via this websitw below - the price is 85 kr. for adults and 55 kr. for children (up to 12 years) per portion, incl. a cup of coffee and something sweet.

In July you can join on July 4th (Fællesspisning is back from August 1st).
