Some events are planned for later this month and it really takes of in September - no different for Newcomer Service events :).

Experience Vejle Fjord from a steamboat - August 26th

Denmark's largest coal-fired steamboat S/S Bjørn is coming to Vejle in connection with the Vejle Fjord Festival.

Come on board for a sailing trip in Vejle Fjord and experience what life was like on a coal-fired steamship from 1909. There will be an opportunity to help the stokers shovel coal and help the captain steer the ship.

The crew likes to talk about the ship's exciting history from active life as an icebreaker and tug, through a lengthy restoration process to the historic monument it is today.

Family friendly event! You can join this trip for free, but you have to sign up, as there are limited seating.

Vejle Fjord Festival - August 26th + 27th

Vejle Fjord Festival is two fun days for the whole family at the fjord/harbor in Vejle.

There are activities for all ages along Bølgen (the Wave building) and Vejle Yacht Harbor - all the way to Havneøen by Fjordenhus and fun activities with the maritime associations on the fjord itself.

Vejle Fjord Festival is part of the Triangle Region's Festival Week.

(It is still) Summer in Spinderihallerne

In week 31 and 32 (August 1st-10th) Spinderihallerne is still buzzing with life and summer atmosphere.

The program is filled with workshops, theatre, yoga, quiz, banking, treasure hunt, live music ... and much, much more!

You are of course invited, so grab your friends, colleagues, children, family members and anyone else who want a fun summer and meet up in Spinderihallerne.

Summer shuttle bus - last day is August 13th

Rememeber you can still take free trips with Vejle's hop on – hop off bus (shuttle bus) between Vejle and some of the area's major attractions.

Hop on the bus and get off right next to Givskud Zoo, Museum Give, Kongernes Jelling and Legoland - or in the center of Vejle, where you can shop, explore a museum or enjoy lunch.

It's easy, it's free and there are three departures every day.

Together Vejle - first and third Thursday of the month

Together Vejle is a bridge-building community for Vejle newcomers and old-timers alike, regardless of native language or country of origin.

Meet up twice a month at the base in Spinderihallerne's Café. These meet-ups are a chance to welcome new members, share stories, and brainstorm new ideas to develop our community.

NOTE new time: First & third Thursdays of each month at 17.30 - 18.30 (5.30 - 6.30pm).

Sneak peek at September

Again this year there will be a national Welcome September month - with events (also outside of Vejle and online) that are for all internationals in all of Denmark - e.g. info meetings about Danish taxes will be online.

In Vejle we are planning seven events/workshops during September + the Triangle Region's Autumn Reception.

	What's on in Vejle

Free Rejsekort (travel card) for newcomers

In 2023, Vejle Municipality, together with Sydtrafik, offers a free travel card to new residents.

If you just moved to Vejle, you can get a Rejsekort (travel card), and travel for free with public transportation for two months. This gives you plenty of opportunity to see your new municipality and the experiences and attractions it offers.

NOTE that you have to activate the card within two months after you moved to Vejle.

Come join our communal dining “Fællesspisning” every Tuesday at Spinderihallernes Café.

Eating together is a great way to meet new people. Every week, people of all ages meet over a nice meal at Spinderihallernes Café.

If you are looking for great company, “hygge” and the opportunity to meet new people, then “Fællesspisning” is the place to go.

We serve the food from 18.00/6pm - beer, wine and soft drinks are sold separately. The café closes at 21.00/9pm.

You can book your ticket via this websitw below - the price is 85 kr. for adults and 55 kr. for children (up to 12 years) per portion, incl. a cup of coffee and something sweet.

Fællesspisning is back from August 29th.
