July is here in a few days - and that means summer vacation in Denmark 🏖️🩴☀️
 
If this is your first summer here, you will find that everything slows down during July. However I do promise you if you (hopefully not) have an emergency, there are people on duty to cover this - also when the rest of us are hibernating! 
 
This month's newsletter wil have the LAST focus in the Landsstævne - I encourage you to check out the free events below - they are for everyone living in Vejle! 
 
The rest focuses on the summer events at Spinderihallerne, the museums, the library and VisitVejle's summer guide. 
 
Remember you can also find events at vejle.dk/detsker + welcometovejle/leisuretime and Spinderihallernes event page.

What can I experience at the Landsstævne?
 

Find an overview of activities you can experience during the Landsstævne July 3rd-6th - most of them for free.

E.g. you can

- help create a joint work of art with artist Phuc Van Dang,

- check out the Flower Wall created by Dina Lea with flowers crocheted by people from Vejle,

- and concerts with Danish artists Pil, Mumle and Malte Eberts,

All for FREE!

A breathing space at the Church of Sct. Nicolai
 
On July 4th and 5th Sct. Nicolai Church have planned events that you can join during the Landsstævne - mostly for free. 
 
Check out the program; it is your chance for a guided tour of the church tower, a concert with the Landdstævne Choir from Ulfborg and Night Church at 9-11pm + much more.
 
Both days you can join a support concert with Bozhyk Duo - a musical duo consisting of the renowned Ukrainian musicians Oleksandr and Yuliia Bozhyk. 
The concerts are held in collaboration with Klub Ukraina and Help sick children. Buy your tickets here.

DIY Festival with SPH: July 29th - August 7th
 
This year, Spinderihallerne is celebrating summer with a brand-new concept: a hands-on festival where we engage with innovation, technology, food, art, creative entrepreneurship, and community.
 
Together, we’ll use our hands to sense, experience, learn, taste, and create.

With the themes of Mushrooms, Fermentation, and Repair/(Re)creation, you can experience talks, workshops, music, exhibitions, food, and much more — in new and exciting ways.

What's on for kids at the Libraries during the summer?

 
Lots of activities for children at the Vejle libraries during the summer holidays.
 
The summer program kicks off with a Summer Camp - this time at Børkop Library under the title “Costa del Børkop” and continues with summer Krea (creative) at NC10, a street art workhop for the kids that are into drawing and much more - check it out!

Outdoor pools in Vejle Municipality

 
Vejle's swimming pools, subtropical water parks and open-air pools have something for the entire family.
 
You can swim in 25 and 50 meter lanes, jump from diving boards, whizz down slides, play in children's pools or relax in hot water pools and saunas.

Vejle Nature Fairy Tales
 
Did you know that in Vejle Municipality there are eight kid-friendly treasure hunts in nature? 
 
Go on eight adventures for children aged four to nine. With the ‘Nature Adventure’ app in hand, you get:

- Fairy tales told as treasure hunts
- Good exercise along a route in the local area
- Along the way, there are various challenges and actions to keep you active and the kids interested in the story.
 
All made to fit various areas in Vejle Municipality - and each with a description of length and time, so you can choose one that suits your sense of adventure on the given day!
