Do you have an idea for Vejle’s 700th anniversary?
In 2027, Vejle will celebrate its 700th anniversary. But a city anniversary shouldn’t be organized solely by the municipality - it should be organized by you!
Now residents, associations, organizations, businesses, networks, and local communities can apply for funding for their own ideas and initiatives that can become part of the anniversary year.
These can be ideas that create experiences, strengthen the community, tell Vejle’s stories, or in some other way make the anniversary something we create together.
The City Anniversary Fund has three categories: the Youth Fund, The Good Idea and The Great Experiences.
The first deadline for applications is October 15th at 12:00 noon.
Read more about the opportunities and apply here: City Anniversary Fund - Vejle Municipality (Site in Danish, choose language at top of page).

Hokusai - The Wave and the Mountain
Exhibition October 9th 2026 - March 7th 2027
Denmark’s largest special exhibition to date, featuring the iconic Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai, is opening soon.
Flying dragons, wild waves, animals, plants—and the sacred Mount Fuji. Vejle Art Museum invites you to step into Katsushika Hokusai’s wondrous visual world.
Hokusai (1760–1849) is Japan’s best-known artist and one of the most influential figures in art history. He described his lifelong passion as being “crazy about painting.” Throughout his life, he sought to capture the essence of life - the magnificent, the beautiful, the brutal, and the overwhelming. His ukiyo-e woodblock prints were the popular art of their time, making them accessible to a broad audience. Today, Hokusai is regarded as one of Japan’s greatest artists.
